The Berkeley College Council is the official representative body of Berkeley College students. Comprised of members from all classes, BKCC provides student input on college life and budget use. Furthermore, BKCC plans and organizes student activities in the college. Working closely with the Berkeley Head of College and the Dean, BKCC strives to make Berkeley a vibrant community for all its members.
Please contact the current BKCC President with any issues and the current BKCC Student Activities Chair with any event requests (see Executive Committee below).
BK Student Activities
Under the direction of the Student Activities Chair, the BKCC plans all kinds of student events. In the fall, Berkeley students can be found out at the football stadium sporting their face paint and Berkeley tattoos. Later in the fall, students gather for the annual college semiformal dance held at an off-campus location. Each winter following the holiday dinner, students gather to compete for the coveted championship of the Berkeley Trivia Night. Later in the spring, the BKCC hosts the perennially popular “BK GLO” where the Berkeley Multipurpose Room is transformed into a blacklight club atmosphere where students can dance the night away. Other activities include trips to Broadway plays, stress-relieving study breaks, barbecues in the courtyard, and weekend ski outings. BKCC caps the end of the school year with the grand Berkeley Bishop Bash – a day-long class competition featuring brightly-colored class shirts, inflatable games, delicious carnival snacks, and a large banquet-style dinner afterwards.
The creative ideas of Berkeley students constantly contribute to event planning. All ideas are welcome and should be submitted to the current Student Activities Chair.
